Who you callin’ a ginger rodent? YouGov passes judgement on Harriet Harman
As I mentioned in a previous post, the opinion polls would be interesting to watch after Harriet Harman’s headline-stealing attack on Danny Alexander at the Scottish Labour conference. Now YouGov’s regular contributors have delivered a pretty harsh judgement on the former Equalities minister.
Her sentiment dropped dramatically from positive to negative by 210 points. Tell YouGov’s ‘tyggers’ were saying she was ‘downright idiotic’, ‘juvenile’ and ‘stupid.’ To be fair, Danny Alexander himself hasn’t fared very well by the same measure.
This is, of course, to be taken with the same shovelfuls of salt that all opinion polls have to be consumed with, and an extra helping as it’s mainly based on online samples. Personally I’ve been pretty trusting of YouGov since they called Labour’s leadership race for Ed Miliband, while most pundits were solidly behind David.
The Labour Party itself remains relativley high in poll ratings across the UK, now almost neck and neck with the Tories. The Lib Dems are down to a poorly 9% in that last sample. Though I’ve yet to come across any Scotland specific polls, where the higher percentage of gingers may mean the country turns less red in May…
(Sorry. I’ve gone two posts without a single ginger pun, give me a break.)
