Salmond fishooked by Isle of Man in scallop fishing dispute
First Minister Alex Salmond is used to intergovernmental disputes with other branches of goverment in the UK, but the tiny Isle of Man Assembly is not ussually one of them.
The Isle of Mann assembly has voted to expell some Scottish fishing boats from Manx waters, to the chagrin of ministers in Edinburgh.
Julian Clover, director of End of the Line, an expose of the fishing industry, portrayed it as the plucky little isle of mann standing up to marauding flett of invaders in the Sunday Times. Scottish fishing representatives are predictably annoyed.
Now it appears the Secretary of States for Scotland Michael Moore has been called in to arbitrate.
And to finish on another pun: It will be interesting to see if he swallows the line.
