Electrification of rail line to Swansea put on hold
The electification of the rail line between London and Swansea has been put on hold, despite investing £8bn in railways outside of Wales.
This led to the Transport Minister in the Assembly, Ieaun Wyn Jones, accusing the UK government of sidelining Wales.
The reason the government has given for the postponement is that it needs to decide which trains to use on the Great Western Main Line.
Welsh First Minister Carwyn Jones has not given up hope, and will continue to lobby for the project to go ahead.
